原っぱカフェがめざしていること
「原っぱカフェ」は、「食」を通じて地域の内外の様々な人々の出会いと交流、安心できる居場所を作りたいと、特定非営利活動法人「ムラづくりNPO風の原っぱ」が2010年からスタートしたコミュニティレストランです。
日常の暮らしの中で、頼んだり、頼まれたりということが気兼ねなくお互いにできるような「関係性」を作り出して、「生きていてよかった」「生まれてきてよかった」というような感覚を共有できるような暮らしを地域の中で実現できないものかと模索しています。
スタッフは、世界中から、あるいは国内の各地からお手伝いにきてくれたボランティアさんたちです。それらの多様な人たちが様々な料理作り、これをビュッフェスタイルで提供しています。
料理の代金は、食べ終えた後に、お客さん自身が自分で決めて、料理の横に置いてある「お代箱」の中に自分で入れてもらうという「ドネーション（寄付）方式」で運営しています。
お金がたっぷりあるときも、あまりないときも変わりなく、健康や活力を支える「食」が保障される地域を作りたいという、この「いいね！（言い値）食堂」の試みは2016年1月からスタートしました。
また、ランチタイムが終わった後は、スタッフの何人かは、毎日、地元の農家さんや、地域の福祉施設のお手伝いに出かけます。近隣の住民の方からの頼まれごとで、草むしりなどの簡単な作業のお手伝いに行くこともあります。
無償のボランティアで手伝ってくれている彼らの力を借りながら、なにか地域の役に立てる仕組み、彼らにとっても有意義でとても貴重な体験になるような、そんな仕組みを作っていけたらいいなあと考えています。

Our Aim
Harappa cafe is a community restaurant run by a non-profit organisation called `Rural Community Activation NPO Harappa of Kaze.` The cafe opened in 2010 with an aim to provide a comfortable space to develop cultural exchange between people form inside and outside the community through `food`.
We would like to create a relationship within the local community where people can ask for help without hesitation and help each other and to be able to jointly feel `Life is worth living.` and ` It is wonderful to be alive.`
Staff of Harappa cafe are volunteers from all over Japan and the world. These varied people cook a variety of dishes and we offer them to you buffet style.
We have an unique system of paying what you want. You can decide on your contribution yourself after your meal and put it in the donation box next to the buffet on the table.
This donation based system started in January 2016 with the aim to create a community where food is guaranteed at all times whether you have much money or not.
After lunch some of our staff help out at local farms or welfare institutions every day.
Sometimes we help our neighbours with a simple task such as weeding.
We are trying to establish a system where our volunteer staff from around the world can help out our local community and have a meaningful experience at the same time.
